So just picked one of these up. They're the newest Aspire cloudbook, but IMO this time done right. Found it used for $140 shipped, so couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Celeron N3450 quad-core (1.1 - 2.2 GHz)
4 GB ram
32 GB eMMC
2xUSB 2.0
1xUSB 3.0
1920x1080 14.1" LCD
Realtek Gbit Ethernet (yes, despite being thin & light, this has ethernet)
Atheros QCA9377 802.11AC w/ MUMIMO + BT

Haven't installed linux on it yet. Been playing with it for a few minutes with the Windows 10 it comes with. It's...not bad. It's slower than the Chuwi with almost the same specs (except much lower class wifi but Intel, so guaranteed to work with Linux). But still nice. Goes for $220 brand new. Feels good in the hands, although it is super slim. Rich black in color, and somewhat textured. Think Latitude E6x00.

I probably won't have a chance to load linux tonight, so that'll be sometime tomorrow or this weekend to test. I'm confident it should work well, I had looked up and the debian firmware-atheros file lists that it works with that chip. And the newer kernels are supposed to support the Apollo Lake eMMC controller MUCH better than the earlier kernels I was using when I had the Chuwi (which I still miss).

I took and updated the bios tonight, then Installed Fedora 27. Everything worked out of the box. Wireless worked live and after rebooting, touchpad works completely including 1, 2 & 3 finger tapping, sound works fine, and it suppports the native 1080P resolution.

So it's official, with the fact that you can find this for $220 BRAND NEW, this is my official linux laptop recommended machine for a while, until such a point as something better replaces it at this kind of price.

Fedora going straight in is awesome!

Was it hard to update the BIOS? My Chromebook sounds like an ordeal but users have put Kubuntu on my model.

Have to say, your setup is quite impressive. Is it the A114-31-C4HH or the A114-31-C5GM? Cant see much of a difference in specs, though.

I have the C4HH. Only difference is the OS that comes on it. Other than that they're exactly the same device.

Bios update was easy on this. It is Windows only (didn't attempt from a live USB of Gandalf, did it from Windows before putting Fedora on), but was quick and was definitely worth it, as the 1.09 Bios I flashed on had a LOT of features unlocked from the 1.05 bios on here when I got it

Despite using Fedora (which completely supports secure boot), I did turn off secure boot just in case I want to do Arch or Debian (without a massive headache getting it working).
